Developer

I have worked on a few different programming languages over the last few years. Using PCs for my work has increased my knowledge of Access and VBA (Visual Basic for Applications) a good bit. I have developed quite a few projects in my work (www.groupdws.com), complex wages databases, among other things.

In work we currently use a program called Caliburn to cost the windows, which is extremely expensive (£3000 a year maintenance contract, £1000 per user licence) and very buggy. That's why I named my program Calibug, to commemorate all the difficulties we had with it.

This is a small program in Access I started to develop at home for the purpose of costing contracts for double glazing firms.  I only started it, unfortunately I don't have time to develop it in work, I have too many other things to do, and has not been given any priority. If anyone would be interested in this type of program, and would like me to develop it for them, feel free to email me. It will of course require Access 2000 and a PC.

This program could be developed to be installed on Sales representatives laptops, showing the customer exactly what they want, the Sales representative what he is earning from the sale, and the orders could be emailed to the main company database for processing.

One of the other reasons why I decided to develop such a program was to aid in the ordering of glazing units. These need to be ordered to the exact millimetre for the PVC frames, and the only program we knew could calculate that was Caliburn, which is an awful program. This version of Calibug is capable of doing this, which means a glass order could be printed off directly from the program.
